(I figured I should create an about page to introduce myself, and answer some frequently asked questions.)

Let’s start with the five dubyas:

Who: John Carleton. Husband of one. Son of two. Sibling of three. Father of four.

What: My photography blog.

Where: Portland, Oregon, USA

Why: I’ve been using Flickr since 2005, and I love it for what it is. I started this Tumblr in June 2010 when Photojojo held a month-long photography contest. I quickly came to love the interface and community here.

How:
~ My main rig is a Canon 5d Mark II, with Canon 50mm f/1.8, Canon 85mm f/1.8, or Canon 17-40mm f/4L.
~ I shoot underwater with a Canon 20D and Ikelite housing.
~ I use two holgas - a 120SF for 120 and instant w/ a polaroid back, and a 120N for 120, 35mm, and infrared.
~ I occasionally use a Polaroid SX-70 Alpha with Impossible Project film.
~ I also shoot with a Rolleiflex TLR 3.5 75mm, Pentax 6x7, and Bronica SQ-A

FAQ

What settings do you use when shooting w/ the 5D?
This one perplexes me to no end. But I guess that just means that I don’t use any settings. I shoot RAW, convert to DNG, then edit appropriately in Photoshop CS5.

Will you follow me?
If you’re a photographer, posting mainly photographs that you made, I will follow if I think what you’re doing is interesting. I try to make a point to check out everyone who follows me.
